THE BIG ONE
tapping into the American dream (winners & losers)
American exceptionalism is the belief that the United States
is unique, distinctive, and inherently superior to other nations
due to its particular origins, political ideology,
and historical development.
Earthquakes
Hurricanes
Tornadoes
Floods
Fires
Fair friends and rustic revolutionaries.
Welcome to THE BIG ONE. Where anything is possible - in the roll of the dice,
flip of a coin - ratified risk in a dangerous and dirty demolition.
In a surreptitious spin of this wobbly wheel, we will transform your trajectory
and launder your legacy.
Where others explore dark boundaries - you linger in the light, lighter.
Where nothingness is the last prize, among those who are on their knees,
Backs turned, toppled in the damp dust, destitute yet determined in death,
we patriots pray, in purgatory. Pre-ordained. Praise be.
Vilify the vigilant; repeat insular incantations, fables & legends
because this is how you will carry your contrition in the eyes of God.
Rewarding you with perky promises and boastful blessings in earnest, eager.
As a practiced parishioner in a miracle made of laughter with cunning wit
you must remain duly distracted. So hey ... welcome to the Big One big guy ...
oh and good luck with that lawnmower. Hoping your daughter passes that SAT test
and that the lottery ticket you hold in your shaking hand is a BIG winner.
Posturing for peace - voting for a constitutional continuation in violence.
Collateral damage is not just condoned, but encouraged. Like penance,
absolution or masochism? Testing the triangulation for trust. Thank you.
Waiting for your willingness. Thank you friend, for your travels & your visit.
Not sure if you got the memo but the wilful always win. Oh and ...
If accepted, you may qualify for a free 'all you can eat' lunch buffet
At absolutely no charge to you or your family as a one time gesture
of our faith in your limber liquidity.
Non Disclosure.
First, we need to talk about the NDA. It's automatic when you sign.
I mean, you're ready to sign RIGHT? ... awesome so ...
The extended warranty is non negotiable. I like to think of it as
our prurient protection proviso in nominal installments.
Right, it's a lot of reading. Let me translate …
We are not responsible for your lost or stolen relatives.
We cannot guarantee your safety if you disobey our instructions.
We do not endorse the causes or claims of people begging for handouts.
We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone - including you,
even if you have paid. Punitive paralysis in a palliative prognosis?
No worries but ...
We will still require you to stand in line like everyone else has to.
Your ticket does not guarantee that we will honour your reservation.
In order to facilitate our procedure, please limit your carrying on.
Before taking off, please extinguish all smoldering resentments
because you will be required to make room for new ones.
This termination clause at the bottom here just means we get to cancel
this contract at anytime in the future for reasons we deem necessary
and that you get no say in what we decide.
If you cannot fully understand English, you will be conveniently removed.
Your insurance could be cancelled if we can no longer handle
your frightful claims. Our handlers may lose your luggage and we
reserve the right to restrain you and or your family for having fun.
You are not presumed to be innocent if the police
have reason to suspect you are carrying a concealed conscience.
It’s not our fault you were born wearing a gang colour or look weird.
It is not our obligation to inform you of your rights. Tick tock.
Wait. Excuse me ... what?
Step aside, please, while our officer inspects your bad attitude.
You have no rights that we are bound to respect.
Please remain calm, or we can’t be held responsible
for what happens to you and oh BTW ...
Your next meal may be days, even weeks away,
So eat eat everything you can now, and thank you
for your patronage.
Sign here, here, and here,
and welcome … to THE BIG ONE.
